Why can't AI agents shop on Amazon?
Press reports say Amazon blocked some outside AI shopping agents, including Meta's Muse, citing its terms on automated access; ARC has not verified the reason. That is Amazon's choice, not a limit ARC measured. Amazon is not in ARC's open dataset snapshot 2026-10-12.r2, so this page has no measured block line for amazon.com.
The short answer
Press reports say Amazon blocked some outside AI shopping agents, including Meta's Muse, citing its terms on automated access; ARC has not verified the reason. That is a decision by Amazon. It is not a technical limit ARC measured, and it is not a score.
What Amazon has said
CNBC (3 October 2026), NBC News (29 September 2026) and TechCrunch (6 October 2026) reported that Amazon blocked Muse and some other outside agents. Those are press reports. ARC did not run that test and does not grade the reporting.
Deliberate blocks and accidental blocks
A store can turn agents away on purpose, or a security setting can do it without anyone choosing that outcome. ARC records an HTTP block or a human-check when its own check hits one. It does not record why the store chose the rule.
What ARC's check shows for amazon.com
amazon.com in dataset 2026-10-12.r2: Not measuredNot measuredNo amazon.com row in that open dataset, or in the latest snapshot bundled with this site. A missing row is not a block and not a zero. Submit the store for a free check.Snapshot 2026-10-12.r2, 12 October 2026.
Whether Amazon publishes an allow-list of partner agents is not visible from outside. That is not measured.
The block counts ARC does publish are for stores in the dataset. Snapshot date on the index figures below: 2026-10-12.

What this means for other stores
Another store can make the same choice, or it can leave a checkout path open. Look up a store on /store, or submit one at /agent-checkout/submit. ARC does not take sides.
