Can agents buy here?

In the 6 Nov 2026 snapshot, ARC's check got a checkout link through a protocol route from 7,220 of 10,698 stores (67.5%): 7,171 of 8,115 on Shopify (88.4%) and 49 of 2,583 on every other platform (1.9%).

One table for every platform and every route an agent can take to checkout. Each cell is the number of stores that passed out of the stores ARC checked, from the open-data snapshot.

By platform and route

Rows are commerce platforms, columns are the routes an agent can take. Every cell links to the closest list of stores. Columns marked pilot, directional come from ARC's browser cart test on Index stores only.

  • Most stores: 60% or more
  • Some stores: 20% to under 60%
  • Few stores: more than 0% and under 20%
  • No stores: 0%: measured, and none passed
  • Not measured: ARC has no check for this route here. Never a 0.
  • Too few stores: fewer than 20 stores checked. The count is shown, the colour is not.

By type of agent

Pilot, directionalBrowser agents drive a store's web pages; API/protocol agents call the store's agent catalog and cart tools. Each column compares the two kinds of agent on the same stores. The browser lanes measure a cart or a checkout step; the protocol lane measures a checkout link. Read them side by side, not as one rate.

Browser agents vs API/protocol agents on the same stores.

What each column counts

UCP profile valid
The store's /.well-known/ucp profile passed ARC's validation (ucp_profile_valid yes), among stores whose HTTP check finished. Source: store_answers.csv. Stores: /protocols/ucp.
UCP/MCP catalog returns the product
The store's agent catalog (UCP or MCP) returned the product ARC searched for (can_agents_find_products yes), among stores whose HTTP check finished. Source: store_answers.csv. Stores: /agent-checkout/stores.
Checkout link via a protocol route
The UCP cart tool (create_cart) returned a checkout link with the product in it (can_agents_get_checkout_link yes), among stores whose HTTP check finished. ARC stops before payment. Source: store_answers.csv. Stores: /agent-checkout/stores.
Browser shoppers add to cart (pilot, directional)
At least one of ARC's five browser shoppers added the product to the cart (browser_cart_test 1 of 5 or more), among stores with a browser cart test. Index stores only. Source: store_answers.csv. Stores: /agent-index.

Opted-out stores are left out. A store counts once, by the platform ARC detected. The "All checked stores" row matches the UCP rows of protocol_matrix.csv. A checkout link is not an order: ARC stops before payment and never buys anything. Thresholds are fixed in code and published above; a cell's colour changes only when its count crosses one.
